Heading South

Monday 14th November

The sun came out and the flood waters started slowly receding! Just in time for our drive from Falmouth to Eaglehawk Neck, our next destination on our Tasmanian adventure.

We had quite the itinerary planned for the day, and first up was a hike up to Wineglass Bay Lookout.

The trail is a 3km return hike, with quite the view from the lookout.

A friendly fellow hanging in the carpark.

We had worked up quite the appetite from our hike so were both looking forward to our lunch. Andy had read about the Freycinet Marine Farm, who were oyster and mussel growers, that served some of Tasmania's best seafood. So we jumped in the car and headed for some well deserved food!

Let's just say, we were impressed!

After lunch we started the next part of the car trip towards Eaglehawk Neck. We had a 2 1/2hr journey ahead of us to reach the Tessellated Pavement. Luckily the drive was more beautiful at every turn.

The Tessellated Pavement.

Only a short walk from the carpark and you are faced with this natural wonder. The colours, the shapes, the textures... I could have spent so much time here taking picture after picture.

At 5pm we arrive at our home for the night. The cutest yellow cottage overlooking Little Norfolk Bay.
