Our Last Day in NYC

Tuesday 4th November 2014
Our last day in New York and the last day of our honeymoon... it sure wasn't going to be wasted!

We had a full day planned and to start it off we went on the Hop-On, Hop-Off bus tour which took us from Broadway down to Battery Park. Along the way we got to see a few of the famous landmarks in New York.

The James A. Farley Post Office Building. This was built in 1912 and takes up a whole block.

The Flatiron Building.

The very popular Charging Bull.

Some of the amazing old buildings that line the streets of Soho.

We jumped off the bus at Battery Park and made our way to the Whitehall Terminal to board the Staten Island Ferry. The ferry is a great way to see the Statue of Liberty if you want to view it from afar and avoid the swarms of people!

The view of the Manhattan Skyline from the ferry.

Andy had been waiting all trip to eat a lobster roll from Luke’s Lobster. So for lunch we jumped on the subway and headed to Brooklyn.

We then wandered through the streets of DUMBO (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) to find Washington Street, where you can view the Empire State Building through the Manhattan Bridge. Sadly the lighting didn’t work in our favour in this shot so you can check out this post to see what we were trying to capture.

After our few hours in Brooklyn we walked back to Manhattan over the Brooklyn Bridge.

The last thing on our to-do list for the day was to watch the sunset from the Top of The Rock.

What a way to end our last day in NYC. Just incredible!
