Bay of Fires

Saturday 12th November 2016
We were determined to make the most of the day despite the miserable weather, and impending flooding, and drive north to the Bay of Fires.

Lichen gives these granite rocks their amazing colour. It looked like someone had walked around carefully painting the rocks orange... nature is pretty great!

The colours on the beach were so bright and interesting.

We had seen pictures of the beach on a beautiful sunny day - and it looked quite different - like something off a postcard! But the view we had was still breathtaking even though the sun hid away for the day.

There had been weather warnings in the previous days about the flooding that was on its way. When the rain started we decided it was best to hit the road and make our way back to Falmouth.

We stopped in for some lunch at Captain's Catch. We were pretty happy with our fresh seafood that was served at a table overlooking the water.

We made it home and enjoyed a cup of tea and a game of scrabble in front of the fire. Great way to finish off the day and ride out the storms that were taking place outside.
